Apprenticeship Support Australia congratulates WA Training Awards winners

Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA), delivered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCI), congratulates all winners and finalists recognised at last night’s WA Training Awards.

The awards recognise outstanding employers, apprentices, trainees, training organisations and schools across the State in 12 prestigious categories.

ASA Manager Lena Constantine said state training awards are an important initiative to showcase the positive outcomes achieved through apprenticeships and traineeships.

“We are proud to have been a key sponsor for the WA Employer of the Year award for the past four years, which values WA businesses dedication to their employees’ professional development,” Ms Constantine said.

“I congratulate CCI Member and ASA client Roy Hill for winning this year’s award, which recognises their commitment to providing nationally recognised training to their employees and helping to build the skilled workforce of tomorrow.

“I’m also pleased to congratulate Western Power, whose employees Beth Hodder and Megan Feaver won this year’s WA Trainee of the Year award and Apprentice of the Year award.”

Apprenticeship Support Australia works closely with businesses of all sizes in every part of the State.

“Over our 20-year history, our team has signed up 255,891 people into apprenticeships and traineeships across WA and worked with 94,247 different employers to successfully build real skills for real careers in WA,” Ms Constantine said.

“Apprenticeships and traineeships are a sound vehicle for people to learn on-the-job in real industry settings, while studying. This has been an important pillar to build the skills that WA has needed over the past 20 years, and now, more than ever, are vital to ensure our workforce can stay at the cutting edge.”

Apprenticeship Support Australia is a free service that assists employers to understand how they can use training in their business. We undertake eligibility assessments for any financial incentives an employer may be able to access, and we support the employer and apprentice all the way through the training to make sure it’s a seamless process.

Award winners will go on to represent WA at the national Australian Training Awards 2018, to be held in Sydney this November.
