CCIWA’s first edition of Regional Pulse has revealed the majority of WA’s regional businesses expect conditions to worsen over the next 12 months.
This special report breaks down the results of the WA Super-CCIWA Business Confidence Survey to reveal the distinct challenges faced in each major region.
For instance, surveyed businesses located in the Perth and Peel region appear more pessimistic about short-term conditions, with one out of two expecting the WA economy to worsen over the next three months.
Meanwhile, three out of four surveyed businesses in the Goldfields and Wheatbelt regions expect weaker conditions over the year ahead – potentially reflecting rising trade tensions and the vulnerability of global value chains.
In the Kimberly, a significant majority of survey respondents (83 per cent) expect weaker conditions over the short or longer term, which may reflect the closure of international and interstate borders to travellers and seasonal workers.
